People management goes beyond the mere technicality of the hundreds of daily acts, processes, and operations we handle. Although fundamental, as people are too important for organizations to be managed solely by a human resources department or service, it is essential that the HR department provides a quality, ethical, and professional response aligned with its competencies, satisfying the high standards of users and other stakeholders.
The path is not easy and will face difficulties and resistance, but it is essential for the strategic alignment and success of IST, in the small contribution that HR can make towards fulfilling IST’s mission and vision.
Alongside this conceptual and cultural change, the HR department has been actively investing in strategic management and operational change, focusing strongly on training its staff, improving infrastructure and working conditions (internal approach), as well as enhancing the quality of its work, orienting efforts towards results, and fostering better communication with users (external approach).
This menu aims, therefore, to reflect the path we intend to follow, as much as possible.
