Training and Development

The Training and Development Unit (NFD) is a service integrated within the Human Resources Management Area (AGRH). Its mission is to foster the continuous development of the people working at IST, by promoting training activities and professional development strategies that support the alignment between institutional responsibilities and the individual professional goals of each IST employee.

The activities carried out by the NFD are based on three fundamental pillars: Professional Training, Career Development, and Evaluation.

The main objectives of the NFD are:

  • To promote the qualification of IST staff through training offers that address professional needs.

  • To foster the acquisition and development of new skills aligned with the vision of Public Administration, institutional strategy, and organizational goals.

  • To support the continuous professional development of each individual within the scope of career management.

In the context of Professional Training, the NFD’s target audience is diverse. Short-term training courses are open to all individuals working at IST, while all webinars and seminars are open to both IST participants and external individuals or organizations.
For more information, please refer to the Training section.

Participation in International Projects

As part of its continuous improvement strategy, the NFD is involved in international projects aimed at disseminating knowledge and best practices, as well as supporting and empowering European and global partners in the areas of professional training and career development.
