The training offered by the NFD is predominantly delivered through four main approaches:

• Short-Term Courses: Courses up to 30 hours, focused on specific topics, aimed at addressing concrete difficulties or needs experienced by professionals in the performance of their duties.
• Intensive Courses: Courses designed to qualify professionals in a particular skill or competence.
• Mandatory Training: Support in providing information and optimizing processes for the completion of mandatory training required by Public Administration or the Management Board.
• Seminars/Webinars: One-time events, at a national or international level, dedicated to specific topics and featuring participation from experts in the field.

These are intended for the following target audiences:

• The entire professional community of Instituto Superior Técnico (IST);
• External professionals in the area of university teaching;
• External professionals in the area of university services;
• Professionals from Central and Local Public Administration;
• Professionals from private institutions;
• The general public.

Information is also provided about external training developed and/or offered by entities outside IST, aiming to facilitate access to and participation in training activities complementary to those offered by the NFD.
